Bandung, 8 October 2022 – To support the acceleration of digital literacy in various regions, Lintasarta frees up public Wi-Fi and programming curricula in West Java through CSR Lintasarta Cloudeka Digischool and Public Wi-Fi Program, which was inaugurated on Saturday, 8 October 2022 at the “Road to West Java Festival” in Bandung. This program is implemented at 82 points in West Java as part of Lintasarta’s commitment to accelerate digital literacy in West Java, including for children with special needs.
“Currently, we have approximately 196.7 million netizens in Indonesia. In addition, Indonesia’s digital economic potential is projected to reach US$124 billion in 2025. This huge potential needs to be supported by mature digital literacy skills from the Indonesian people, and we are proud to be involved in supporting the accelerated increase in digital literacy at 82 points in West Java,” said Lintasarta’s General Manager Corporate Secretary, Ade Kurniawan.
CSR Lintasarta Cloudeka Digischool and Public Wi-Fi programs are implemented in 82 location points in West Java, namely SMA, SMK, SLB, and several selected public areas, especially in areas that have not yet been reached by the internet. This is intended so that the teaching and learning process can run well through online and offline media, while improving the quality of learning in schools as well as a form of community empowerment effort.
In line with West Java’s spirit to accelerate digital literacy improvements in the province, this program is part of Lintasarta’s efforts to support this commitment. This CSR program from Lintasarta can be a first step, so that in the future there will be more and more people in West Java who can improve their standard of living through the use of public Wi-Fi and a programming curriculum.
In addition, Lintasarta, together with Dicoding, as a platform for the development of the developer ecosystem in Indonesia, also provided a programming curriculum for 2,000 high school, vocational and special school students who were the locations for public Wi-Fi installation in the form of career preparation training to become software developers and programming introduction training for six (6) months.
“We chose the location for installing public Wi-Fi and the programming curriculum carefully to ensure that this service can be used optimally by the beneficiary community. In general, we are focusing on education areas such as SMA and SMK, as they are the ones that will soon enter the workforce in the next few years. That way, it is hoped that the benefits of this program can be felt in the long term and will also contribute to increasing digital literacy skills in West Java,” concluded Ade.
